Actually am really interested in Systems. But tell me one in apps and systems each. Thanks a lot.
How about writing a script to fetch all dependencies and provide gui-based options for the configure, make, make install routine for VLC [ www.videolan.org] source? For Fedora, Debian, OpenSuse *and* Mandriva? I am always scared of trying to compile VLC as I don't know what to make of so many options of what libraries / plugis to include or safely exclude, and most of the pre-compiled versions are either obsolete, unavailable for many distributions and /or are limited due to patent concerns. I am sure there might be many like me. I was actually thinking of offering somebody money to create such a utility under the GPL, but if there is somebody who can take it up as a 'project', why, I'd love to keep my fists clenched tight. I honestly don't know if this utility would be large enough to qualify, but hey, you could also offer it to the VLC website as an alternative install method. Just a thought. -- ______________________________________________________________________ Pune GNU/Linux Users Group Mailing List: (plug-mail@plug.org.in) List Information: http://plug.org.in/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/plug-mail Send 'help' to [EMAIL PROTECTED] for mailing instructions.
