The pin-outs are different.  Unless you want to construct your own cable,
because the specs are available on the net.

And also, if you plan to buy or construct, get the smart signalling cable. 
This tells the PC more than just 'power failure, shut down now', it indicates
if the UPS is running on batteries, and indicates if they are about to run out
and the server must be shut down.
