what version of redhat do you use? 6.0? linuxconf is one of the last
applications that come up during a red hat boot sequence. Hopefully
the system has already gone through the multi-user mode and launched inetd
already. Just telnet to the machine and disable the service through
setup.
did you fool around with some of the .cf files? Linuxconf regenerates .cf
files when it finds that there has been a change. If you did not
re-generate the said .cf file and rebooted. it would cause linuxconf not
to start up properly then yer system console would just be stuck there.
