Have you considered using the various instant-messaging platforms (ICQ,
AIM, Yahoo!) instead? Easier to use than your typical IRC client...
BTW, I'm using the multi-protocol Everybuddy messaging client. IMO, they
should have called it "Everybuggy" since it's so damn flaky.
