But IRC the discussion was about cheapo video cards. But is nVidia better supported than ATI under Linux or free X in general? Debatable. The difference is like that between having a top-of-the-line Toyota Altis and a jeepney. There's no question that the Altis is better supported "officially". But there are more neighborhood mechanics that can service a broken jeepney than can a Toyota Altis. So, which is better supported?
