Try to install the infamous libdvdcss [1] and configure Xine to use it. I use Xine on Gentoo with this library and I haven't yet run across a DVD that could be played on a standard player that was unplayable with Xine (but some DVD's that refused to play on some standard players but work with Xine, hehe). If you have a dot-directory in your $HOME that's named .dvdcss (that contains the CSS keys for all of the DVD's you've succeeded in playing) then there might be some other reason why you can't play the discs, and perhaps a little more info is in order, e.g. versions of the various plugins, codecs, and other software Xine depends on, your DVD drive's make and model, etc. [1] http://developers.videolan.org/libdvdcss -- Those who can make you believe absurdities can make you commit atrocities. http://stormwyrm.blogspot.com/ _________________________________________________ Philippine Linux Users' Group (PLUG) Mailing List [email protected] (#PLUG @ irc.free.net.ph) Read the Guidelines: http://linux.org.ph/lists Searchable Archives: http://archives.free.net.ph
