wow... that's a lot of info. anyway, my case is this.

A pc from my house would be connected to a DSL, a home-plan DSL is on a private network, right? it's expensive to get the business one that provides a static IP. anyway, i need to access that PC from my office, preferably using VNC. now my workstation is also in a private network. There is a spare pc from our office that has a public IP and that i can access it from the private network, and yeah it has two lan card for the public ip & private ip.

Case 1:

"Private Network" can access "Public PC" <=== internet ===> "Home PC (private IP)"
MY Work PC 2 LAN Card PC
     Need to access this PC

Case 2:

"Private Network" <=== internet ==> Public PC <==== internet===> "Home PC (private IP)" My Work PC A linux server that i Need to access this PC
                                               can install any program

how can i apply your suggestions given those scenarios?

thanks a lot...
