Our chances of hosting something like OOOcon would be better if we
have a visible local developer/user community contributing to it
(patches, translations, marketing, etc.). Same goes with other big
"upstream" projects such as Mozilla and PHP. Maybe not this year, but 
surely in the coming years. There's so much interest surrounding FOSS
lately, but we need people to come out in the open to show their
accomplishments and be recognized :-)
