Display problem
I recently installed SuSE 10.0 nad had no problems whatsoever, until
that is the install was done. The resolution was detected automatically and
setup by SuSE just fine. However, when thwe install was done, the display on
screen was not square as it should be. It's shaped like a cup, i should say.
Its the right width at the top but gets smaller towards the bottom. I didn't
have this problems using the defaults on other distros I installed, or even on
live cds I've tried. SuSE's the first, as far as the skewed display is
concerned. I did notice that the refresh rates are limited to 58Hz on
1280x1024 and 58, 68 and 78 Hz on 1024x768, which I found strange. So far I
have used both the default nVidia driver that came with the installer and the
updated driver from Novell. I use an nVidia Geforce4 MX440-based vid card with
64MB of memory. Anyone have any similar experiences? Ideas on how to fix this,
anyone? Below is a copy of my xorg.conf file:
