hi Jhuniepi,

yeah your right about that, if your the viewer and  your controlling a remote PC which is connected to neighborhood or samba shares you can do file transfer and data retrieval from it am I right? and you can also control some other PC inside your neighborhood as long they ( other PC) have server listening but using the PC that your controlling from your home isn't it? ( you can also control other PC directly if you change the port listening to it or define the pc's IP on your firewall if your using forwarding).. but back to the original post made by rare_daffodills he is asking if his boss can work home ( meaning he will be using his PC at home) connecting to the office network to do data file transfer/retrieval right? which VNC is not capable of doing diba? sorry but I just wanted a clearer picture on this.. hehehe ( makulit ako )

For rare_daffodills like other pluggers post solution like VPN will be your problem solver..

when you use vnc, you can see the computers connected in the pc from
your end through samba shares or network neighborhood. im also using
the free edition. you can control remotely the pc so any pc connected
to it, you can also see in the networks.
