Hi,

I experience slow bootup when the my PC is not connected to the
Network. When I connected the lan cable it worked fine.

Can't say this can really help, but most of the times I experience long 
boot times is due to the box sending out dhcp requests and not getting 
any response in return.

...or somebody maybe did "touch /forcefsck" and changed the file to 
read-only....and your boot up process hides the fsck process with a gui 
(okay, just thought of that wild scenario up). :)
