a newbie question why does the debian has many 14 cd's, instead can i use cd 1 & 2
It's alright to ask. Debian's 14 CDs includes everyting in the Debian archive, just like how SuSE and Red Hat have multiple CDs that include all their supported software. But if you're just going to do a desktop install Disc 1 and 2 should work fine. In Ubuntu and some other Debian-based distributions, they limit it to only the desktop with one desktop enviroment, that's why they can fit to 1 CD. Everything else can be grabbed from the server. -- Jerome Gotangco [EMAIL PROTECTED] | [EMAIL PROTECTED] Mobile: +639196555242 GPG: 0xA97B69A0 _________________________________________________ Philippine Linux Users' Group (PLUG) Mailing List [email protected] (#PLUG @ irc.free.net.ph) Read the Guidelines: http://linux.org.ph/lists Searchable Archives: http://archives.free.net.ph
