I did also:
mount -t cifs //serverip/share /media/windows -o rw,credendials=/root/.cifs
my .cifs file is:
username=xxxxnamexxx
password=xxxxx123xxx
Same thing happened to me....It mounted ok but when I tried to get a file,
it says "permission denied" then download the file in zero size.
I did not resolve this. If anyone was able to mount cifs, please share.
