What other hardware have you got on that box?  I've also installed
Dapper on a machine that has much lower specs (Athlon XP 1800, 256MB
RAM, 40GB IDE, Nvidia GeForce).  Booting actually does take less than a
minute for this machine, although I do remember that booting the
installation CD took a lot longer, and the system is nice and zippy,
with most applications, including, surprisingly, Firefox, starting
reasonably fast.
