You may have a lot. Try increasing the number of child process of dansguardian.
maxchildren = 200 (my example, and I have the same specs as your server)
try to increase it in the dansguardian.conf or somewhere in its configuration files.
ulimit also sometimes have some factors here and you may want to increase that also since dansguadian runs on "nobody" user.
