Check your cups config to:
(1) listen to your subnet, not just 127.0.0.1
(2) allow access to all client

Subject: [plug] printing and browsing cups from windows
guys and gals,
i'm trying to get CUPS running in ubuntu dapper so that window clients can print, however i can't browse cups i.e. http://printserver:631/printers/printername from window clients but i can use the same URL on the localhost, i can browse using the ip address of the cups server though. the workaround i can think of is have the ubuntu CUPS server configured using static ip (it's configured by dhcp) but what i want to happen is to browse it using its hostname so that windows users can easily identify the printer, what configuration do i need to edit?
TIA
