Might be OT but, I personally will buy Microsoft Linux for the desktop
if that ever happens. :P

Imagine the Win32 runtime embedded in the Linux kernel (making it a
tainted kernel which FWIW I don't mind at all) and all the Windows
applications working out of the box. Consider not having to need X
anymore because the Windows GUI already comes shipped with the
installer. Sweet.

At any rate, maybe MS is just doing what is good for business. They
haven't born out any concrete technical plans yet, but their stock has
risen quite sharply because of this deal. Contrast that to the share
price fall when they hit delays on both Office 2007 and Vista.

Might just be a PR move for all we know. It's a wait and see game now...
