You need the full OpenManage suite (OMSA) installed. Best howto is
here: http://linux.dell.com/monitoring.shtml

OMSA 5.x is fully supported on Redhat Enterprise 3 and 4. In Debian,
use 4.x since 5.x has maybe not been debianized yet. same thing with
novell/suse.

A friend of mine mentioned that It's not very trivial on Debian, took
him a few weeks to perfect everything. He has .debs for OMSA for a
specific kernel and more.

Are you looking to do this via SNMP or some sort of IPMI or I2C?

SNMP is the easiest, secure, and flexible. You just need a stock
Net-SNMP package installed and Dell provides a sub-agent to hook up to
it.

Hi Guys,

I need a temperature monitoring program for remote servers.

There are lots of choices from Mr Google but I need to hear from those being
used in the productions already. Any suggestions? Server model is Dell 2950.

TIA,

Geruel
