Feisty. :) i didnt expect that you wouldnt get that part. I was referring to your statement about "the last time i checked" about the advancements of the BSD kernel :P
Okay, want me to get exact? I had been developing a C++ application back then which used Berkeley DB and had been developing with the target platform being FreeBSD 5. I had to check why I was getting extreme corruption rates on the BDB databases, and low and behold it was a UFS issue -- because it never really does a "sync()" on its own, and running on an SMP machine caused race conditions and data corruption in high read+write systems. Now that was already FreeBSD 5, and the touted stability crumbled right before my very eyes. And no, it's not a trivial system that I was developing. But you know what? The application ran better on an un-updated RedHat 9 system which featured a 2.4 kernel using the then "new" ext3 filesystem with journaling. No, I didn't have to do anything with the code because I was using the same compiler in FreeBSD and Linux, and I had been able to do a side-by-side comparison. So the last time I checked was FreeBSD 5 versus RedHat 9. Go Figure.

But you were saying something about the clusters being "commercial"?
are you sure that DoD and DOE are ALL running linux? I just seen @sandia.gov emails at some of BSD mailing lists. And guess what? they're quite active.
I didn't say anything about DoD nor DOE running Linux only. I was pointing out that the supercomputers they were using ran Linux instead of *BSD.
and why do you think DARPA funded OpenBSD before till Theo said something about the US government?
I don't F'n care whether the US government funded this or that -- that doesn't matter. Linus didn't need a grant to develop Linux and it's even better than any BSD kernel in any aspect IMNSHO.

Also check your facts :) Anonymity? diba nanlibre ka lang ng goto ganda pa nga ng usapan natin tungkol sa linux at ng blog mo e. tapos pag andito ka, galit na galit ka sa akin. huhuhu!
I've given you and every one else the link regarding "my facts" to my claim that the top #1 and #2 supercomputers in the world use Linux. I don't remember the goto panlilibre happening, nor the conversation regarding Linux and my blog (maybe you're also the Ball-Less-Coward who's been trying to tick me off my blog, but I couldn't care less anymore who you are). Maybe it's selective amnesia, or maybe it's because I don't take these things too seriously. But I feel like I need to do something about obvious trolling by an anonymous coward as a Board Member of the Philippine Linux Users Group. And there's a difference between "galit" and "inis". If you made some sense, I wouldn't call you stupid even if you were posting anonymously. And if you had some semblance of decency and delicadeza, you wouldn't get the abraisive response from me or other people for that matter.
kaya mainit ulo mo e. kulang ka lang sa seks ;) seks ka naman
This is just juvenile.
