i've read this post on the centos forum too, tested it with my test server and it works like a charm. however i still have doubts though using the same procedure on the dedicated server administered by cpanel. there is an option in cpanel to upgrade/rebuild apache with php5 but there is no option in cpanel to upgrade to mysql5.
