True. Boards nowadays will always have more than enough cpu. So you
need to have more boards to handle the load.

Its easy to reach a point of diminishing returns. The best way is for
smtp hosts to start talking to each other. A single smtp host can only
do so much.

Its also important to scan for outgoing spam.

well these actually do more than scan for spam and viruses. it also
tries to prevent information leaks.
