Hi Orly, The questions I wouldve asked him would have to do with his visit per se. I am assuming that he is on a goodwill mission of sorts, judging from the tone of the email broadcasted by the the mysql mailing list.
He is obviously looking for people to talk to at the countries he is visiting - probably in order to gauge the acceptance of mysql (and possibly related technologies) in the region. It is therefore appropriate that PLUG and other groups that use MySQL on a regular basis make representations to Mr. Axmark. Sa madaling salita, this is what organizations do, and the sort of conversation one would have with him is: - hi! hello! - what are you doing here? - we exist, - and if ever you are planning to do something hereabouts (which is probably why you're here), we'd like to know about it and possibly be a part of it. mga ganun.. thanks and see you later gary On Nov 9, 2007 3:23 PM, Orlando Andico <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > I find it difficult to imagine what sort of questions to ask David Axmark. > > I believe that the usual "magazine-article interviews" are useless, > and provide no information that you can't already Google. > > What I would like to know, for example, is when MySQL will come up > with certain useful features, such as... > > 1) persistent memory database (and I'm not talking about MySQL Cluster!) > > 2) better clustering than MySQL Cluster! > > 3) partitioning tables across MySQL servers so you can do parallel queries > > -- the "Federated Table" mechanism is laughable.
