Intel chipset motherboards starting with the i810 (and up) have a
hardware-based entropy generator which uses a hot resistor (or
equivalent).

The Linux kernel uses this by default if present. I just forgot what
it's called.

The kernel also uses the hard disk activity (as measured by
interrupts) as an entropy source.
