What does `ulimit -a` say? Could be filesystem-related. `ulimit -f
unlimited`, perhaps?
(Aside: come to think about it, Bong {is he still around?} used to
download SLES DVD ISOs effortlessly, but using Firefox download
manager in Windows. Too bad torrents are not allowed, eh? ;))
Try FTP or curl, then. I used pungi, actually, although Jigdo should also work.
