here's what i did before to jail the user to the home directory and yet be
able to access other directories outside/higher than his home directory:

_Bind_ the OutsideDirectory as a sub-directory of his HomeDirectory via
mounting.

ex.
    HomeDirectory   /home/hdir
    OutsideDirectory   /usr/local/odir
    Sub-Directory   /home/hdir/sub-odir

    shell> mount --bind /usr/local/odir /home/hdir/sub-odir
