Hi All, I've been searching around for a new laptop. I'm thinking of getting an HP DV6815NR[1] or Compaq Presario V3532TU[2].
The former has a Turion64 X2 and Broadcom Wireless. The latter a Core 2 Duo with Intel GMA X3100. Anybody from the list who can help me with some questions? The following is also sorted by importance. - Are there any issues with the Broadcom Wireless drivers? I read that the ndiswrapper, which I'm hesitant on using, is needed for it to work. - How's the battery life with the Turion64? Any heat issues? - Any problems with AIGLX on GMA X3100? :D I only checked models from HP because we already have 3 laptops at home by HP/Compaq which makes me think that they're durable. Mine is already 4 years old and still works fine considering that it fell from my desk a couple of times already. I'm open to other suggestions, too. We have an Acer laptop that's still alive (sort of). Thanks!
