yes, but only if you export the document to EPS format and you'll not be
able to retain the original format/quality.

on one of my previous roles, we tried replacing a propietary publishing
software with an F/OSS alternative that supports XML/EPS, plug-in
development, cross-platform deployment, etc. and Scribus fits that bill.
unfortunately, it wasn't ready that time for full production use.
