Input appreciated, sir! Regarding the MSI Wind, it looks like a HD-equipped netbook. I want something as tough as my cellphone. Maybe a little less tough since I sometimes drop it.
I browsed the archive however and it seems to be a favorite in the list. So I guess it's still the EeePC for me. I was quite surprised that the older models are selling for P9,000 already. I think it's the 2G Surf. It might not be enough for Ubuntu or Fedora though, unless they can be installed in the SD card? --- On Wed, 1/21/09, Pablo Manalastas <[email protected]> wrote: > From: Pablo Manalastas <[email protected]> > Subject: Re: [plug] Linux SSD-based netbooks > To: "Philippine Linux Users' Group Discussion List" <[email protected]> > Date: Wednesday, January 21, 2009, 10:36 AM > The Asus EEE PC is may be available for PHP18,000.00 > depending on memory size and SSD capacity. > > The MSI Wind may also be available for PHP18,000.00 > depending on > memory size and SATA disk capacity. > > Both machines have been successfully reinstalled with > Ubuntu, > even if originally they might not be pre-installed with it: > > http://www.ubuntu-eee.com/wiki/index.php5?title=Main_Page > http://wiki.msiwind.net/index.php/Ubuntu_8.04_Hardy_Heron > > There is a bit of work involved to get Ubuntu to run on > either, > but everyone knows that happiness comes only after > hardwork. > He he he. > > Seriously though, I suggest that you pay a bit more and get > a Netbook with 2GB ram and at least 160GB SATA disk.
