Actually, after doing an e2fsck, I can now mount with no problem. Its just that 
when I mount the partition that has / and /var, all I can see is 
lost+found and inside that dir has a lot of files with filename #<numbers>.

The dir has a "#" on the filename so I change to that dir with "\" and some of 
that dir has some files. I forgot to put "\" that's why I keep on 
getting back to root dir.
