The first set of criteria is mainly looking for simple patterns on the
filename .*CBB-.{0,7}.copy and then the manual filtering is based on
certain factors such as a mapping specified in a file. There are also
scenarios wherein I cannot move the matching file per se but the whole
directory containing it. In some cases I would need to open two
similar matches and do a visual comparison on what needs to be
retained.
Script junkies, I am one of you so no need to "convert/enlighten" me
on the power of the script. It is just that in this scenario the human
factor is going to be faster than going into a script-validate-rewrite
cycle. I really would like a GUI-based Linux solution so that I don't
need to fire-up my Win7 virtual box to do the work. Although
admittedly the Win7 explorer trimmed down the first 3 steps into a
single window.
