Hi to all,

I am currently using Ubuntu Karmic 9.10 on one laptop and after removing
usplash, the errors were gone. It has been stable without errors. I am not sure
if you guys also encountered the usplash errors. Ubuntu 9.10 readily sees my
Smartbro Huawei E156C and I am able to use it without problems.

Anyway, I wanted to try out Debian 5.03 on my older laptop but I understand
that Debian uses a much older Kernel.

Just a few questions:

1. Is Ubuntu's ability to readily use Smartbro because of the latest version of
the NetworkManager?
2. Is it because Ubuntu uses the latest Kernel?
3. Do you think the Debian 5.03's version of NetworkManager would be able to
use Smartbro with similar ease?

I installed opensuse 11.2 on my desktop but it was not able to get my Epson T10
printer working so I re-installed Ubuntu 9.10. It seems that Ubuntu is really
the best all-around user-friendly Linux distro... and so is Linuxmint.

Thank you very much in advance.

Stephen
