Although I haven't tried SMARTBRO on Ubuntu (ZTE MF627), Globe Tattoo using
Huawei USB Modems works well with Ubuntu Karmic Koala.

What you can do SIR, is openline your HUAWEI USB modem so that you can also
use SMART and SUN on your TATTOO.  This will give you flexibility, depending
on the location you are in. :)

There are a lot out there who unlock Huawei USB modems, I am one of them
