I would go for the i7-920.  CPU power alone does not equate to better
performance. It also needs to talk to other components of the system. So the
bus can be a choke point. This is certainly the case for Intel Atoms.  They
run at 1.6Ghz but they are slow because the bus speed it supports is just
533 Mhz. A well balanced system with enough CPU power, with L1-3 Cache, and
higher bus speed should give you better performance.
