there is always a possibility of data corruption when a power goes out because some data are not completely written. When the LV is corrupted, you can restore the data from your snapshot volume, only that it is the data from the point of time you have taken your snapshot. that's the idea of the snapshot. creating a snapshot only involves a few seconds. what do you mean by running a backup job?
