Currently, I'm playing around with a Seagate Dockstar as a home file server.
It
is an OEM'd sheeva plug computer running Ubuntu for the ARM. It has 4 USB
ports
and an ethernet port. Out of the box, it needs an Internet connection to
connect to pogoplug.com, but there are writeups out there that allows you to
set
it up without the need to connect to the Internet.

I thought about getting an atom-based CPU before. Compared to one a plug
computer requires less power (<5W I believe). The caveat is that a plug
computer relies on passive cooling so you have to place it in a well ventilated
area.
