Phoronix.com benchmarked btrfs early last year.  You can google their article 
on 
this to see what tools they used.

Over the weekend I installed Ubuntu Maverick Beta with BTRFS as / (with /boot 
on 
an ext3 partition).  Maybe it's just me, but install seemed to take longer than 
installing with root on ext3/ext4.  Ang bad trip lang, the rescue option of the 
installer cd (I a prefer using an alternate install cd rather than a live cd) 
doesn't include pa the BTRFS kernel module,  so when I had a problem on the 
first install, I had to do a re-install. :(

Oh, and if you do get the chance to do your own benchmarking, let us know the 
results.
