The problem with calling a phone a WinPhone is that users will expect
it to work like Windows, right? But what the sample pix show is
nothing like the Windows everybody is familiar with (whether you hate
it or love it).

Apple wisely chose to call its phone an iPhone rather than a MacPhone.
While there are iMacs that are computers, most users associate the
letter "i" with Apple's hit consumer offerings like iPod and iTunes,
not with the Macintosh, which as Apple liked to emphasize in the past
is not a PC;-).

What Microsoft needs is a good fun logo, similar to the Apple
forbidden fruit or the Google robot (Android). Compared to these two,
the Microsoft identity is dull, perfect for the office, but not for
users who want to make a fashion statement. After all you don't want
to carry your office work with you all the time? Look at the Windows
logo. It looks more like a flag being blown in the wind than a window
of opportunity.
