Okay so when I arrived this evening I found that network manager says that wireless disabled again. Looking at /var/lib/NetworkManager/NetworkManager.state:
[main] NetworkingEnabled=true WirelessEnabled=false WWANEnabled=true So I change WirelessEnabled to true then tried to restart network manager. Restart was successful, but wireless was still disabled and NetworkManage.state was back to the above settings. Tried the ff to restart network manager sudo restart network-manager sudo /etc/init.d/network-manager restart sudo initctl restart network-manager All of the three were successful at restarting network manager, but not enabling wireless. Any ideas? I'll keep my notebook wired for tonight in case suggestions come in. Hmmm, when is 11.04 coming out? Maybe I can upgrade over the Holy Week break. As for the webcam, I haven't encountered the problem again so haven't had a chance to investigate.
