You can revert back to the old interface.  At the login prompt select
the Ubuntu Classic in the session box.

I am using Arch Linux now and they have shifted to Gnome 3 with Gnome
Shell.  It is similar to Natty's Unity interface.  I just had to pause
for a moment, discard what I know, and start fiddling with the
interface.  It is not bad at all after the initial shock ;)
