You using NSCD? Adjusting the config might fix your problem or permanently
avoid
using it.

Subject: [plug] [PLUG] losing LDAP connection

Hi Guys,

Im running a system that authenticates with an LDAP server but users encounter
a
lost access to the LDAP wherein when they run #who it only shows the UID not
the
username. This causes problems with the application. I found a workaround
where,
after running #w all goes back to normal.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
JM
