I am in Matabungkay at the end of the road, Ligtasin Beach. SMART is the
quasi provider. When it works the link (WIMAX) is ok, but certain times of
the day the kink becomes congested and SMART seems to simply drop the
connection which causes the router to reboot. The link is often simply not
usable for an hour or two.

The best solution I have found is to take a long walk on the beach. SMART
support and service is a nightmare. Getting involved with them is like
kicking a sponge that is a mile long. The Internet provision in the
Philippines is all marketing oversold and underperforming.

Also their name servers fail repeatedly for anything other than popular
movies on youtube, which may be cached somewhere nearby. The performance on
these movies is surprisingly good.

So it goes,
