I don't use net-snmp, but I have used snmp quite a bit and have
a fairly solid grasp of it.

Your Linksys WAP probably supports v.1, v.2, and v.3 of the SNMP protocol.

5.5 is the rev of the net-snmp software not the SNMP protocol itself.
And the current net-snmp package supports the original SNMPv1, 
Community-based SNMPv2 (i.e. RFCs 1901-1908), and SNMPv3 (i.e. RFCs 
3411-3418).

Just out of curiosity what are you hoping to gain by collecting snmp 
traps from your Linksys WAP? I ask because I personally can't think of 
any good reason I would want to spend the time and effort to set this up 
for my WAP except for maybe wanting to tinker w. SNMP. Which isn't to me 
really all that interesting anyway...
