As I continue reading dirvish documentation before trying a dry-run I learn the benefits of maildir to mbox germane to snapshot backups. 'Tis better to back up new messages individually than the entire mbox file for each day's change. So, while mbox has served me well there's now reason to change formats.
A Google search turns up many scripts, including mb2md. But what I've not seen is a guide to what else I need to do so the conversion works with my locally-installed MTA: postfix. I would appreciate pointers to learn what I need to adjust before or after running the mb2md script on each ~/mail/* file.
