I actually tried the Fedora 14 DVD, but it said it could only go back to Fedora 12. Nevertheless, after upgrading to Fedora 13 Yumex lists pages and pages of updates. Moreover, about a third of my installed apps will not launch. Using Yumex I discovered that those that will not launch were apparently not upgraded by the DVD. Perhaps I should have done the Preupgrade instead. One by one I am going through my Appliications menu and using Yumex to update everything that will not launch. I have made it through all the folders except System Tools. Using Yumex I have fixed everything except all the OOo applications, Pulseaudio Device Chooser, and Praat. The OOo applications were installed from openoffice.org, not the Fedora repos. I'll probably end up just uninstalling and reinstalling them. Praat is a mystery, but I'm subscribed to their e-list and someone will probably come up with a solution. Pulseaudio Device Chooser is probably not worth bothering with. Having gone through the majority of my installed apps, the error message "Authentication denied ..." is no longer popping up. I have no idea why. But I'm happy to live with the outcome. :) _______________________________________________ PLUG mailing list [email protected] http://lists.pdxlinux.org/mailman/listinfo/plug
