I am Jason Hsu, the founder and lead developer of Swift Linux. I'm nowhere
near Portland (1700 miles to your east), but I've heard that Portland is one of
the most Linux-heavy areas here in the US, ranking up there with Silicon
Valley. I understand that Portland is home to the Linux Foundation and the
birthplace of FreeGeek.

Swift Linux is based on antiX Linux and inspired by Linux Mint and Puppy Linux.
You can learn more at http://www.swiftlinux.org . Swift Linux has the UNIQUE
combination of user-friendliness, a large repository, and lightweight
operation. Linux Mint is user-friendly and has a large repository but isn't
lightweight. Puppy Linux is user-friendly and lightweight but has a tiny
repository.

The target markets of Swift Linux are:
1. Windows XP users
2. Ubuntu Linux and Linux Mint users scraping by on only 512 MB of RAM
3. Puppy Linux users who want a larger repository or who don't like the
controversial always-root feature
4. Linux users who don't like the controversial new Unity, GNOME, and KDE user
interfaces

I'm looking for developers for Swift Linux. The version control system is
GitHub (https://github.com/swiftlinux), and the bug/goal tracker is
Launchpad.net (https://launchpad.net/swiftlinux). If you have worked on other
distros (especially competitor distros), I'm ESPECIALLY interested in your
input.
