Methings I've a protocol mis-match between the WAP and the laptop. On the Asus WL-520GC for Authentication Method I selected WPA2-Personal. (Selecting Shared Key changes to WEP encryption.) WPA Encryption is set to AES (the only choice), and I've entered the desired WPA Pre-Shared Key. On the Sony, wicd's GUI manager shows our network as WEP (not WPA), but the Use Encryption checkbox is checked and the protocol is WPA 1/2 Pre-Shared Key. The PSK is the same string as on the WAP. If this is how it should be, I'm totally befuddled why I can't connect to our network.
