Here's a link to some information about creating a bootable USB stick: http://forum.mandriva.com/en/viewtopic.php?t=63493 Mandriva distributes a small installer image called all.img that can be used to install it in just about every way you might imagine, including over the internet, from a hard disk, and so on. The link explains steps to create a bootable USB stick and load syslinux and that all.img file. I've used this method successfully to load the installer on a USB stick.
