Until a few months ago, I used the images from androvm.org for testing during android development. I got adb working through a bridged network, so I could do some rudimentary testing and debugging. It is a fast Android box when run on a youthful Mac Book Pro, much better than the emulator. It has plenty of quirks, but I easily found enough that worked to get on with my job. Other more real world android devices are now available to me, so I no longer use Androvm.
Androvm may well work for what you want, but it will take some fiddling to find out for sure. You will have to load Google Play separately, as I recall. Let us know what you find out. -- Pat On Wed, Jan 23, 2013 at 5:15 PM, Ronald Chmara <rona...@gmail.com> wrote: > http://www.kirsle.net/blog/kirsle/android-4-0-in-virtualbox notes problems > with sound, video, screen rotation, apps that are optimized for ARM > chips... > > Interesting find. > > > On Wed, Jan 23, 2013 at 5:03 PM, Keith Lofstrom <kei...@gate.kl-ic.com > >wrote: > > > It seems that an Android virtual machine can run inside Virtualbox. > > Which suggests that Android apps can run in a virtual machine on a > > laptop, and that I don't have to buy an Android tablet or phone to > > use some apps and services without native Linux implementations. > > An example is gotomeeting.com > > > > Maybe. > > > > Is anyone here running virtualized Android?
