You'll need root access to /etc/resolv.conf (or sudo) which is a bad idea. Better to set up wicd or networkmanager profiles which each stores in $HOME. No need to access resolv.conf at all. Both can also toggle not only between wifi APs but also between wifi and wired.
IIRC, you're on slackware. Just set rc.networkmanager to execute, create a rc.iptables scrips (rworkman or Alien Bob have a nifty generator) and you are golden. -Ed On 10/21/13, Rich Shepard <[email protected]> wrote: > What method would be most appropriate for a user without root privileges > to > reset /etc/resolv.conf from /etc/resolv.conf.home when returning from using > a portable at an external site?
