I moved to Portland in August, and joined this group in September. Since
then, I have been studying and practicing for the Red Hat Certified System
Administrator (RHCSA) and Red Had Certified Engineer (RHCE) exams. As it
turns out, getting the exams themselves scheduled is almost more difficult
than the material... No one wants to offer me the exam without taking a
course... The soonest I can get the RHCSA exam is Feb 28th in Bellevue,
WA. No RHCE exams are currently available, and they won't schedule one
without 6 people...

SO, first request: If anyone else is interested in taking the RHCE exam in
the relatively near future, please PM me, so we can work together in
getting it scheduled; I'm also interested in forming a study group, if
there are any interested parties.

Of course, once I get the certs, I'm also going to need job experience to
put on my resume... I have been running Linux and BSD servers at home for
over a decade, but that hardly translates to provable experience ;) It was
recommended to me yesterday that I should look into volunteering at Free
Geek. I would also love to volunteer at the Linux Clinics if volunteers are
needed.

SO, second request: In addition to contacting Free Geek about getting
volunteer experience, are there any other local sources of experience I
should be pursuing?

Thank you in advance for any assistance,
Tyrell Jentink
